BEST Robotics

Hargrove is excited to participate in the 2009 BEST Robotics Competition. BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) is a national non-profit, volunteer-based organization whose mission is to inspire students to pursue careers in engineering, science, and technology through participation in a sports-like, science- and engineering-based robotics competition.

Hargrove has been helping the BEST committee get ready for the kick-off on August 21st, where they will reveal this year's project. "About twenty five teams get together when the project is unveiled and have forty-two days to create a company and build a robot," says Leta Walton, a Hargrove teammate who volunteers with the youth. "It's awesome to see so many different kinds of kids, middle-schoolers and high-schoolers, with different talents get together, work so hard and build some pretty incredible machines."

The BEST Robotics competition is a great way for Mobile's engineering community to gather together to support the local kids and inspire them to pursue careers in engineering and technology. For more information on BEST, please visit www.bestinc.org.
